ABOUT US

Who We Are​At Shepherd of the Hills, we're a body of believers centered on the Good News of Jesus Christ, the Savior who lived a perfect life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose from the grave. You're invited to join us for worship, as we joyfully gather to grow in faith and praise God for His goodness to us. We also have a variety of Bible studies, interest groups, and special events to meet the needs of our congregation, community, and all whom the Lord sends our way. We hope that includes you!​The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod​Shepherd of the Hills belongs to a church body known asThe Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. Lutheran - In the 1500s, Martin Luther taught that we're saved by grace through faith. Those who accepted his teachings at that time were called Lutherans, and the name stuck.Church - The Church is all believers in Jesus. The LCMS is one of many Christian church bodies, all worshiping the same Savior.Missouri - In the 1800s, a group of churches in the St. Louis, Missouri area banded together to form a network of congregations, supporting one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. As new churches were started, this network of churches expanded to include congregations all over the nation Synod - The term “synod” comes from a Greek term that means “walking together.” Every church in the LCMS walks together in a common belief about the Triune God and His Word of revelation, the Bible.
