Shepherd of the Hills loves children and wants them to know that Jesus loves them. We want children to know that the church is not just for big kids and grown ups. We host events that help families grow in faith, have some fun together, and experience serving those in need. For more information on any of our children’s ministries, please contact Cindy Miller, Director of Children’s Ministry.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me.” (Matthew 19:14)
Children at Shepherd are learning by experience that they are the church so we have lots of opportunities for children to be involved in the worship life of the congregation. At Shepherd of the Hills children can:
- Attend Children’s messages
- Serve as Offering helpers
- Assist with Communion
- Follow along with the sermon using Sermon Notes Pages
- Participate in the processionals during festivals such as Palm Sunday
- Enjoy the children’s activity bags
- Attend special worship services for families at Easter and Christmas
Sunday School (9:30 am)
Shepherd of the Hills Sunday school is dedicated to teaching children the Word of God and helping them grown in their relationship with Jesus. Bible stories come alive in our Sunday School classrooms, as children age 2 through 5th grade gather with their loving teachers to learn about the Bible. All children are welcome to attend Sunday school and it’s always the right time to join! We meet in the School Cafeteria across the playground from the Worship Center. See a map!
Children’s Learning Time (during the sermon at select services)
Children attending the 6:00 p.m. Saturday worship service and 10:45 a.m. Sunday service are invited to attend a special learning time during the sermon based on the sermon text for the day. The children return to their parents in time to participate in the offering.
Shepherd of the Hills Nursery is available at all worship services to care for children from newborn through 3 years old. We provide a safe and loving experience for your children while you worship and/or participate in Bible study.
Vacation Bible School time at Shepherd of the Hills is a high energy, memory-making time filled with great music, hands on investigations, interactive Bible stories, and awesome student crew leaders!
