What are the benefits of church membership?

Throughout history, God has used the church to pass on faith to each new generation of believers. When you become a member of Shepherd, you join that story and commit to something larger than yourself. In addition, you will be placed on the calling lists of elders and deaconesses, who provide care by contacting members at significant life moments.

How do I become a Member?

We’re excited that your interested in joining our congregation. To get started, please…

  1. Contact us and select “I’d like to Become a Member” from the dropdown menu.
  2. We will get in touch with you with more information, including an application.
  3. Attend The Next Step, offered twice a year during the Sunday School hour (see below).

The Next Step

The Next Step is our new members class held twice a year as part of Shepherd U. The 8-week class is during our Sunday School hour (9:30-10:30 AM), once in the Fall and once in the Spring. It is a chance for newcomers and long-time members alike to come, build relationships, and learn about the history, culture and beliefs of this church family.

For more information about church membership, or to find out when the next Orientation is being held, please contact Alice Klement, 210-614-3742 ext. 204.

Becoming a member at Shepherd means you become a part of the family and commit to living the bigger story of God.
