Summer Serve 2018 Information

WHAT is Summer Serve?

You’re invited to serve our San Antonio neighbors alongside your friends! This week includes 2 days of service, worship, teambuilding activities, and all the fun of a mission trip (without the cost of travel!). We will serve at various service sites around San Antonio.

Shepherd of the Hills works together with other Lutheran churches in the area to put on this event. We usually get around 100 students and have even had churches from Austin and Dallas join us!

WHO is Summer Serve for?

Summer Serve is for anyone finishing a middle school grade (so anyone currently in 6th-8th grade during the 2017-18 school year). You can invite your friends! You do not need to be members of Shepherd.

WHEN is Summer Serve?

Summer Serve begins Thursday evening at 7:00 PM, June 7 and ends Sunday, June 10 at 12:00 noon. Here is a sample schedule of the week (this schedule is from last year’s event).

WHERE is Summer Serve?

We will be staying on campus at Shepherd of the Hills and hosting the other groups that attend. Our service sites will be at various locations around San Antonio. We’ve served at adult day care centers, nursing homes, day camps, homes in need of repair, apartment complexes that need paint jobs done, food banks and soup kitchens, you get the idea!

HOW MUCH does Summer Serve cost?

$100 covers all of your lodging, food, and work site supplies. Please note: We do not serve dinner on Thursday evening, so please eat before you come!
