WHAT is Youth Quake?
Youth Quake is a weekend event held at a local hotel with programming designed to encourage young people in their faith. The event is ran by an organization called Life Promotions and the participants will include people from many different Lutheran churches.
The theme for this year is “Overcome” from John 16:33. This theme offers us Jesus’ trumpet call of hope, help, health and holiness in a trouble-filled world.
WHO is Youth Quake for?
Students who are in grades 6 to 8 can register as a participant. Students in grades 11 or 12 can register as Junior Guides and will receive opportunities to be leaders during the event.
WHO are the speakers/bands?
Speaker: Bob Lenz is the primary speaker, has spoken all over the world to youth, and is the founder of the organization running this event. His speaking style is humorous and down-to-earth.
Worship Band: Thomas and Lynn Stoneking, along with their 3 children, travel across the U.S. leading worship for youth events, camps, and retreats.
WHEN is Youth Quake?
The San Antonio Quake is February 23-25, 2018. Check-in begins at 6:00 PM on Friday and programming ends at 11:00 AM on Sunday. View a sample schedule here.
WHERE is Youth Quake?
Quake will be held at the DoubleTree hotel by the San Antonio Airport (37 NE Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78216).
HOW MUCH does Youth Quake cost?
Quake costs $150 per participant if you’re a student and $50 if you’re an adult leader. The cost includes lodging, food, and programming for the weekend. Extra spending money can be brought for t-shirts and merchandise but is not necessary.
WHEN are registrations due?
All registrations need to be received by December 1, 2017 to ensure we have enough chaperones, hotel rooms, and food for everyone! Late registrations will not be accepted!
